usb reader and cygwin - a VERY bad choice for oscam...

comment:4 by gf, 11 years ago

Well, it was working for him, lets see what theparasol have to say :)

there is not the choice the problem, with the r7706 it's all ok, now it doesn't work, why?

comment:6 by Deas, 11 years ago

but the choice is related to the problem. cygwin relies on the windows ftdi drivers and they are in conjunction with cygwin not the best. e.g. a sky s02 card has ecm times greater than 1 second with cygwin and ftdi usb readers. with a native serial reader on the same system the card can give about 500-600ms. but with a pl2302 reader the times are at the serial reader level. yo could e.g. run virtualbox (https://www.virtualbox.org) on your windows system and map the usb reader directly to the virtual linux machine.´

but yes, there was a change, it seems that it is running without any problem on real linux systems, and cygwin is again a show-stopper.

Nothing changed for mado79 in 7707, its only related to internal readers and thats not the kind he uses.
I guess he never tried 7707!
He should better pinpoint the exact rev it was actual broken, thats for sure not 7707

Guessing its rev 7712
